Today I Epiphanized... That Disney Movies Aren't Representative
By this I mean, there really isn't much of a difference between all of the Disney cartoon movies like Cinderella and Snow White. There is always that one pretty princess with a perfect body who falls in love with a white, strong male. On some occasions, the male lead isn't white. In Mulan, Li Shiang is asian, yet he barely looks like it. His skin is a little darker, his hair is in a bun, and his eyes are a little slanted. But, he definitely doesn't look like what a stereotypical Chinese man would look like. If anything, he looks more white than Asian. Growing up with these stigmas implanted in our brain changes how we look upon each others cultures and even start racism in people's minds. It is pretty crazy to think but it isn't really too far fetched.
